EXPERIENCE THE QRS DIFFERENCE

There’s no question about it: Your surroundings have a powerful effect on how you feel and function. For nearly 30 years, QRS Group has focused on creating remodeling projects that elevate the quality of our clients’ lives. Our process begins with understanding who you are and what you value most in a living space. We’ve even designed our own office to be a welcoming place where you'll feel comfortable—and inspired—to share the vision you have for your remodeled space.

QRS understands you’re making more than an investment in your home—you’re making an investment in your lifestyle. At least that’s how we see it. That’s why we give you the kind of great service and quality craftsmanship that we would expect for our own homes. That philosophy starts at the top. With expert, hands-on company leadership, QRS clients experience a different—and better—kind of remodeling process.

  • JAKE RUIZ

    OWNER AND PRESIDENT

Jake Ruiz officially joined QRS in 2000, though he’s been around the world of remodeling and construction for most of his life. Over that time, Jake not only developed a passion for building but also gained valuable insight on what it takes to create a beautiful project.

His qualifications include completing a four-year carpentry apprenticeship at Moraine Park Technical College, holding NARI Certifications as a Kitchen and Bath Remodeler and a Lead Carpenter, and being a THX Certified Professional for audio and video installation.

Jake’s roles at QRS have included project manager, estimator, kitchen and bath designer, and home theater and automation designer. Now as Owner and President of QRS, Jake serves as Operations Manager.

  • LUIS RUIZ

    FOUNDER

When Luis Ruiz founded QRS in 1989, he already had valuable experience as a foreman and project manager on residential construction projects. For Luis, forming his own remodeling company was the logical next step to pursue his passion. He continued his remodeling education with additional training to become a NARI Certified Remodeler and Certified Lead Carpenter.

Luis believes truly successful projects involve putting yourself in the client’s place and asking, “How would I want to be treated?” Thanks to that client-focused attitude and his dedication to craftsmanship in all projects, Luis helped QRS to grow steadily year by year, essentially by referral from one satisfied client to the next.

UNDERSTANDING OUR REMODELING PROCESS

Initial consultation - This typically is done in person at your project location.

Retainer - You can choose to supply a project retainer to QRS, allowing us to place you on our schedule. This holds your spot in line while we work through the design and quoting process, which takes several months. If you choose to proceed with QRS, the retainer is applied to your project. If you choose to not use QRS for your project, this retainer is refunded to you.

  • By placing a retainer with QRS, you lock into our schedule sooner than later. If you choose to not supply a project retainer, several months later when signing your Remodeling Agreement you will given the next available spot on our calendar.

Design - For projects that need design, a consultation at your project location is performed with our Estimator and Designer. During the consultation, we will ask your needs and wants, and discuss possibilities.

  • A Design Agreement is sent to you via email. Once approved and design downpayment is received, we line up the digital scanning of your home, allowing us to import your existing home into 3D.

  • Initial Design Presentation is done at QRS. During this design presentation, you are able to tour your potential remodel in 3D and provide us with valuable feedback we will use to edit the designs to better suit your needs.

    • Revised Design Presentation can be held via email, zoom or in person at QRS.

    • Final revised plan review is usually held via email.

  • Upon completion of plans, Construction documents are delivered to you.

Quoting - Your Estimator will meet any required subcontractors or suppliers at your project location to receive accurate pricing. Your Estimator will calculate all costs and present a full Remodel Proposal to you.

Material Selections - Once your Remodel Proposal is signed, a Material Selection Agreement is sent to you for approval.

  • Your Material Designer will meet with you at your project location to get a feel for your style and needs.

  • Your Material Designer selects tentative material options and presents them to you both digitally and in person with physical samples.

  • After Material Selections are complete, your Estimator will revise the proposal with all of your selections and present the final accurate and detailed proposal.

Contract - A Remodeling Agreement is sent to you outlining your project schedule and payment schedule. Once signed and downpayment is received, QRS starts ordering all the materials possible at that time for your project. Lead times are established and the start date revised accordingly.

Preparation - Before your project begins, your Estimator will meet with your Project Manager on site to go over your entire project. Towards the end of that meeting, both Estimator and Project Manager would like to meet with you to go over details and any last questions you may have.

Your Remodeling Project Begins!

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS

  • One point of contact makes it easy for you.

Have a question or concern about your project? With QRS, you’ll have a knowledgeable single point of contact who can make things happen right away. That not only means your emails, phone calls, and texts get answered promptly—it means issues get resolved quickly and your project keeps moving smoothly.

  • We measure success by client satisfaction, not project volume.

Our exacting attention to the smallest details sets a high standard for quality, a standard that everyone working on your project must meet. We see the positive results not only in the way clients praise our performance but also in the long-term relationships we form with them—and often with their family and friends through referrals.

  • You deserve as clean a project as possible.

Dust control is a major focus for QRS. We take numerous steps to minimize construction-related dust, including enclosing project areas with secure plastic zip-walls, using negative air pressure strategies for dust containment, and either taping or placing filters over HVAC venting. We also consider thorough clean-up at the end of each day a critical part of our services. In addition, upon project completion, we’ll conduct an extensive final cleaning.

  • See your future space with cutting-edge remodeling technology.

QRS has made a concerted effort to stay on the cutting edge of design and remodeling. For example, we can provide a vivid digital 3D “blue print” of your remodeling project, making it amazingly easy to visualize before it’s completed.

  • Your senses will thank you: integrated audio and video services.

It’s just a fact: AV technology plays a huge part in how people enjoy their home. So rather than bring in a third-party to handle your project’s AV needs, QRS integrates AV design and installation into our remodeling services. Why? Our experience has shown us it’s the best way to not only achieve optimal performance for your AV components; it’s also the best way to incorporate those components seamlessly—and beautifully—into the aesthetic of your remodeled space.

  • What is NARI and why does it matter?

NARI stands for the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. NARI certification is a rigorous process of course work and exams. It’s an accomplishment that not only demonstrates extensive remodeling expertise but also indicates a firm commitment to the highest standards for professionalism and ethical business conduct. NARI certifications make a significant difference in a remodeling company’s quality of performance. That’s why QRS provides remodeling professionals with certifications in the following areas: Certified Remodeler, Certified Lead Carpenter, and Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler.
